TVO Canada-Ontario 150 Logo: Maple leaf transforms into trillium flower

TVO needed a logo to mark the celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary. As Ontario’s public television network, it was mentioned that it would be nice to jointly celebrate Ontario's 150th birthday as well. My solution was this metamorphosing logo. Thirteen lines (each representing a province or territory) unite to form a maple leaf, then pause before transforming into Ontario’s provincial flower, the trillium. The logo was used on broadcast, print, and web. The television bumper I animated can be viewed on my vimeo page.

I was asked to animate the existing static logo for a promotional bumper, and I used the opportunity to inject life and personality into the quirky icon – growing with the plus sign, shrinking with a minus sign, multiplying, and then dividing into pieces.
